The aim of the programme is to train older pupils in P6 to become Play Leaders in the infant playground (P1 - P3) to:
- encourage children to play together
- help organise teams and groups
- monitor the general flow of games and make any adjustments
- offer support to individual children who "don't want to play"
- enable children to resolve play and friendship problems in a fair way
- provide a safe haven for infants who are experiencing the playground for the first time.
The programme is produced in collaboration with children and consists of six training sessions and a Play Day.
