Fair Play Training works directly with children as well as adults offering a variety of workshops guaranteed to fire the imagination. Sessions are practical, fun and stimulating. Topics can be tailored to meet the needs and expectations of individual groups.

If what you are looking to do is not listed below get in touch – we may still be able to help.

Playspace Markings Pack
This pack is designed to stimulate children to create designs for their own playground or play area environment. Over two sessions the children discuss what they would like and what is practical. Discussion includes thinking about quiet spaces, equipment needed for play etc.
When the completed plan is approved it will be transferred onto your playground or play area, using high quality marking paint.
Follow up sessions providing ideas to encourage the children’s use of the markings can be arranged.

Games Training Pack
This pack is designed to give children new ideas and a whole new outlook on play. Many of the games involve high activity, encouraging good health and fitness. The key elements are fun and fairness, leading to a successful play learning experience.
The pack is presented in four one hour sessions working with medium to large groups of children.
· The children are taught a variety of games suitable for the group’s needs and available play space. Games included will be for large or small groups.
· Each child is provided with a play workbook in which each new game should be copied to encourage the children to learn and remember the rules.
· The group leader will be provided with a resource book including all the games and posters of the games and rules to be used as prompts.
· The selection of games will be tailored to meet the individual needs of the group and will provide a long term resource for adults and children alike.

What about a whip'n peerie?
We can show you what they are and how to play them along with hopscotch, skipping and ball games from the days when streets were for playing in and not for cars!
Suitable for all ages and abilities.

New Games
Everyone is always looking for new ideas for games. These games are aimed at producing co-operation and fair play in the school, street and community
There are line games, circle games, tag games, trust games but most of all fun games everyone will want to join in.

Tell Me a Story
Everyone knows that children can tell wonderful stories and enjoy the fantasy of hearing and telling tales. Fair Play help to capture this in three different ways:
· Drama
· Storytelling
· Puppetry
We can tell stories or assist the children in making and telling their own.
They can create their own puppet theatre or be thespians themselves in dramas of their own choosing.

Problem Solving Skills
These sessions are designed to give children and young people the strategies to resolve conflict and to develop peace making skills.
Skills are developed in the manner of talking to each other such as sharing feelings, listening, discussion and identifying solutions to problems.
Developing problem solving skills can be offered in two or four sessions, however time should be allowed for the children and young people to practise their new skills and to deal with issues as they arise.

Improving Children's Thinking through Philosophical Enquiry
Developing children's ability to:
ask questions
listen attentively to their peers and
challenge and explore the beliefs of others
is an integral aspect of this programme.
Philosophical Enquiry aims to create a caring group and helps to enhance listening skills and understanding of other views and opinions.
